Cheyenne Mountain Junior High School serves students in Grades 7 and 8, and is nestled at the base of Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our collective commitment is to the cognitive and social development of your adolescent child and to provide a safe learning environment anchored in positive relationships and self-advocacy.


CogAT Testing

On August 25th, 26th, and 27th, all 7th graders and 8th graders who are new to the district or missed the tests last year will be participating in the Cognitive Abilities Testing.  In District 12, this testing is done in the 3rd and 7th grades.  For testing days, all CMJH students will be on an alternative schedule.  Please contact your child's counselor if you have questions.

Stream Team (aka- Creek Club)

There will be an informational meeting for the Stream Team in Mr. Eick's room (rm. 202) after school at 2:45 on August 19th.  This meeting is designed to give students information about when the club meets, what the club does, what students must commit to, etc.  Students must apply for the Stream Team, so it is important for students to either attend the meeting or see Mr. Eick soon.  Applications are due to Mr. Eick on August 22nd

9th Hour begins August 18th

9th hour begins this week after school. 9th hour takes place in the library and is a place where students can read, work on homework, listen to an iPod, or work on school assignments in the computer lab until their parents are able to come and pick them up from school. 9th hour is usually available to students from 3:00 to 4:30, Mondays through Thursdays.

Fall Athletic Information

All athletic information can be found on the Athletics page of the CMJH website.   August 11, 2014 is the first day of practice for our Fall sports.  Fall sports include Football, Volleyball, and Cross Country.

BEFORE your child may participate in sports at the Junior High ALL athletic paperwork, including a sports physical, and a fee of $50 is due to the coach on the first day of practice.  All athletic paperwork can be found on the CMJH website Athletics page, under "General Information" in the "Athletic Documents and Forms"  area.  

Cheyenne Mountain High School is offering sports physicals for any 7th-12th grade athlete on Saturday, August 2 from 8:00am-11:30am in the HS gym for $20.  Click HERE for more information.
