Physicals offered at Cheyenne Mountain High School

Every athlete MUST have a sports physical that is current for the entire sports season he/she is participating in at the junior high.  Our high school offers physicals each year to families as a convenience.  The date this year is Wednesday, August 1 from 5-8pm.  This helps eliminate the need to make an appointment with you primary care physician and to pay a copay.  Physicals are performed by local MD's, DO's, and Orthopedic Surgeons and the cost is $20 which benefits the Cheyenne Mountain High School Athletic Programs.  Please see the flyer for more information.

Exciting News!

We are happy to share some exciting news!  Beginning fall of 2018, junior highs/middle schools in five school districts (Harrison School District 2, Widefield School District 3, Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8, Cheyenne Mountain School District 12, and Falcon School District 49) will enter into a new athletic league. The twelve schools in these five districts will form the South Metro League.

Athletic Directors from each school district have met over the course five months to discuss the new league, which will provide geographic alignment for student-athletes and programs. The league will increase opportunities for competitive play and balance across programs. In that spirit, it will help build genuine neighborhood rivalries. Competing against teams in the five districts is also more manageable for student-athletes and parents attending games that are closer to home, even when they are “away.” Most importantly, traveling in close geographic proximity to other schools also protects instructional time and allows athletes more time for homework and/or family.

Athletic Fees increasing for the 2018-2019 school year

Parents,

Athletic fees at the junior high have been the same price for all sports for the last eight years.  This spring we looked at each sport and calculated what it costs the school to run each program (league dues, assignor and official fees, equipment, uniforms, awards, and end of season celebrations) for the past three years.   In doing so, we have found the cost of most of our programs far exceed the amount of money collected in athletic fees.  So out of necessity, we will need to increase our athletic fees beginning the 2018-19 sports season.   In an effort to be most equitable, we have established new fees to the amount necessary to sustain each specific sport, so fees will differ from sport to sport.  Listed below is the new sports fee schedule for the junior high:

Football:  $125.00

Volleyball:  $77.00

Cross Country:  $43.00

Boys' Basketball:  $105.00

Girls' Basketball:  $105.00

Wrestling:  $95.00

Softball:  $100.00

Track and Field:  $55.00
