National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society promotes and recognizes accomplishments in scholarship, character, leadership, service, and citizenship.  This club is open to 8th graders with a 7th grade fall GPA of 3.8 or higher or a total 7th grade GPA of 3.8 or higher, and members are expected to maintain academic excellence.  Students must also demonstrate strength of character, strong leadership skills, and be committed to academic performance and community service.  Students must show evidence of 20 hours of community service accumulated after induction; 10 hours must be in service to or through CMJH activities sponsored by staff which benefit the school community.  The National Junior Honor Society meets at least once a month on Mondays after school.  Applications for current 7th graders will be made available Feb. 25th and are due March 15th by the end of the day.  Interested 7th graders must have earned a 3.8 GPA or higher first semester, will need two teacher recommendations, and will need to submit a completed application which includes a 300-500 word essay.  Students who are new to CMJH since first semester who are interested in joining should contact Mr. Eick or Mrs. Jaynes.  Induction of new members, by current members, will be in April 15th during an evening ceremony.  Applications are available on a google form on Feb. 25th at https://docs.google.com/a/cmsd12.org/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe3oRCtvVb8EMIN95rn6TIJpw8WtJ3HvqjhEHvobzQ089oHNQ/viewform?c=0&w=1
