Welcome to the 2023-24 school year at Cheyenne Mountain School District 12!
As the Superintendent of this exceptional district, it gives me great pleasure to extend my heartfelt greetings and warmest wishes to all of you. I hope this letter finds you well and eagerly looking forward to a new school year full of growth, learning, and accomplishments.
This year, we are committed to focusing on three essential district priorities that will guide our efforts towards even greater excellence:
Teaching and Learning: At Cheyenne Mountain School District 12, we believe that every child deserves an exceptional education that empowers them with the knowledge and skills to succeed in an ever-changing world. To achieve this, we will continue to invest in our teachers' professional development, foster innovative teaching methodologies, and provide our students with a diverse and enriched curriculum. Moreover, we will continue to strive to create an environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, ensuring that our students become lifelong learners and leaders.
Mental Health Wellness: The well-being of our students and staff is of utmost importance to us. We recognize that a supportive and compassionate community is vital for academic success and personal growth. This year, we will expand our mental health programs and resources, promoting emotional resilience, and providing a nurturing space for everyone to thrive. By fostering a positive and inclusive school climate, we hope to cultivate a sense of belonging and connectedness within our school community.
Safety and Security: Creating a safe and secure learning environment is a top priority at Cheyenne Mountain School District 12. We are dedicated to implementing the best practices in school safety, including regular drills, updated security measures, and ongoing collaboration with law enforcement as well as other first responder agencies. Our goal is to ensure that students and staff feel secure, know how to respond in an emergency, and allow them to focus on teaching and learning without distraction.
We understand that the success of our district is a collective effort. It is the result of the partnership between our dedicated educators, supportive parents, and hardworking students. Together, we will overcome challenges, celebrate achievements, and continue to foster a culture of excellence that defines Cheyenne Mountain School District 12.
